TaskView vs OpenProject

Choose OpenProject if…
You need classic project management depth — Gantt charts, wiki, meetings, budgets, portfolio and resource planning — an LDAP directory, or a GPL-licensed tool with long public-sector references.
Choose TaskView if…
Your team mostly needs tasks, kanban, sprints and time tracking, and you want SSO, SCIM and an MCP server in the free edition, plus a one-time price with no 25-user minimum.

What a 50-person team pays for SSO
Professional is the lowest OpenProject plan that includes single sign-on: €10.95 per user per month for 50 users, versus a TaskView Team license (up to 50 people, one-time). OpenProject Basic, without SSO, would be about €3,570 a year.

The TaskView license is perpetual and covers every release of the major version you buy (currently 1.x). Upgrading to the next major version when it ships is optional ($1,190 for the Team tier) — and if you skip it, your version keeps working forever. TaskView's SSO and SCIM are also in the free edition, so the paid license is not needed for them at all.
Where TaskView falls short
- No Gantt chart, wiki, meeting management or budgets — OpenProject covers classic project management far more broadly.
- No LDAP. TaskView connects to directories through SAML/OIDC and SCIM only.
- No portfolio or resource management across projects.
- OpenProject has more than a decade of enterprise and public-sector use; TaskView is younger and built by one developer.
