TaskView for IT & software teams
A project tracker that lives inside your perimeter: login through your IdP, accounts synced via SCIM, repository issues synced as tasks. The free edition has no user limit.
Sound familiar?
Security said "self-hosted only"
Policy, client contracts or compliance require the tracker and its data to stay on your infrastructure — and the cloud tools you knew are off the table.
You found the SSO tax
The tool you were evaluating puts SAML/OIDC — a security feature — behind the paid tier. Even self-hosted.
You did the per-seat math
Dozens of people times a monthly seat price, forever, for software running on your own hardware — and every new hire is a new invoice.
How TaskView helps
Each point below is a shipped feature, not a roadmap promise — the code is public.
Let the whole team in through your IdP
SAML 2.0 and OIDC single sign-on ship in the free Community Edition. SCIM provisioning creates and deactivates accounts from your identity provider — joiners and leavers stop being manual work.
Keep registration under control
Invite-only mode (ALLOW_PUBLIC_REGISTRATION=false) closes public sign-up. Optional invite emails with built-in rate limits, and login methods you pick via AUTH_LOGIN_METHODS.
Fit how engineers already work
Git integrations for GitHub, GitLab and Gitea: repository issues sync as tasks and stay up to date both ways via webhooks. API tokens for automation, an MCP server so AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor) can work with tasks.
Run it behind your reverse proxy
API_PUBLIC_URL keeps SSO/SCIM URLs correct behind a proxy, TRUST_PROXY for proxy setups, PM2_INSTANCES and DB_POOL_MAX for many-core hosts. Install is 3 files and one docker compose up -d.
Run the actual work
Projects with lists and kanban boards, sprints, task dependencies, time tracking with reports, tags, priorities, deadlines — plus native iOS and Android apps.
Keep the exit open
Every task, comment and time entry lives in your own PostgreSQL database. pg_dump works today and will work in ten years — there is nothing between you and your data.
Try it on a spare VM this afternoon
No signup, no sales call, no license key. Point SSO at your IdP and run one sprint next to your current tool.
